Personal Loan Help?

I am a 20 year old college student looking for a $3,500-$5,000 personal loan. I received an internship offer in a major city for the summer and plan on living in a dorm during my time there. All university housing there requires that the entire balance be paid before the start of the summer to book a room, which averages around $4,000. I simply don't have that kind of money and I can't borrow money from school. Asking for help from my parents is out of the question. I will for sure be able to pay back the loan in full with my summer earnings.  Here are my stats:

I don't know my most recent individual credit scores, but they're all between 660-690.

3 credit cards from major CC companies with combined limits of $3,900

2 store cards with combined limits of $7,500

Total CL: $11,400

$10,000 in student loans that I probably won't start paying back until I graduate.

Total Utilization: Around 30%. The vast majority of that comes from a single credit card that is nearly maxed out. I'm getting 0% interest on it until next year so I've just been paying the minimum. I don't have the money to pay that off now.

CC history length: I have had my oldest card for 1 year and 4 months. Average length is 10 months. Perfect payment history.

Income: About $500/month during the school year. This past summer I had a 12 week internship that paid me around $8,000. My internship for next summer will last for 10 weeks and I will make around $25,000.

How should I go about getting a loan? I just joined a local university CU, but since I have no history with them I'm not sure how willing they'd be to lend me money. At the same time, it seems as though they'd be more likely to take into consideration my expected summer 2016 earnings and trust that I'll have the money to pay the loan back in full quickly (I have a copy of the signed offer letter and salary information). I don't think it'd be the same for places like Prosper or Lending Club. I haven't considered major banks because I'm assuming I have a 0 -.1% chance of getting anything from them. Any advice?

Re: Personal Loan Help?

You can test the waters for a loan without incurring a hard pull credit inquiry. Payoff.com, Sofi.com, Prosper.com, LendingClub.com, Avant.com, Upstart.com, BestEgg.com, and PromiseFinancial.com are all soft pulls to see if you qualify, how much you can get, and at what APR.

But with your current income it's going to be an uphill battle.
