Potential Collection Accounts

Hello,

I have two accounts that have been sent to a collection agency, but when I pulled my three credit reports they do not show up. Should I try to just settle now or wait until they report and attempt to settle for removal. My fear is that I will pay/settle then they will show up as paid later on my CR and I have no leverage to negotiate. These account were sent to collection last Sping (2012).

Thanks!

Re: Potential Collection Accounts

A typical path in such cases is to contact the debt collector and offer them a pay for not reporting settlement.

Deletion of reporting based on payment of a debt is contrary to the credit reporting policy of the CRAs.

However, not reporting raises no such concerns.

You may have better luck with a pay for not reporting than asking them to delete contrary to their credit reportinig agreement with the CRAs.
