Preemptive Validation...

Hi,

I received a collection letter from Resurgent Capital Services, LP.  The cover letter had a sentence 'Enclosed please find an original validation of debt that verifies the debt.'

The letter included a computer printout titled Validation of Debt.

The letter had a terse couple of paragraphs about LVNV Funding LLC having purchased a debt from HSBC Bank.  It amounted to nothing more than a verification.

Is this a new technique for trying to preemptively short circuit people from asking for a validation?  Anyone else gotten this from Resurgent lately.

The debt is well within SOL and the amount claimed looks quite inflated from what the original HSBC debt was (~4k)
Any suggestions on how to respond?

Because you are within SOL Im sure that you know that they can file at any time. If you DV them   they know that you are aware of the collection.....then if you don't  all you can do is wait & pray that they do not file.

There are pro & cons .....This is really up to you....right now you know that you will need to pay part or all!

Im sure that they have added fees & intrest. Check your state and see if they must be licensed AND if the state has a law that sets the fees & int.
