I was thinking about purchasing my scores but read that I will have quarterly updates to my scores. I don't see where paying 30.00 a month makes any sense if it only updates once every three months. Or am I missing something here? I sure hope so because that sounds very odd to me.
I am curious about this as well.
You will get score updates whenever something triggers a change in your report that affects your score. You will only receive the 3 bureaus report every 90 days.
That makes more sense.
Thanks!

Hi TreasureCredit! It's not actually quite that good.
You use the phrase "score updates" which will give our OP the impression that all of the scores he gets will get updated. Actually almost none of his scores will get updated -- only the FICO 8 Classic will get updated. Here is a list of the scores that only get updated every 90 days:
FICO 9
FICO 04
FICO 98
Mortgage scores
Bankcard Enhanced Scores
Auto Enhanced Scores
Also you suggest that the more frequent score updates occur whenever something triggers a change in the report that affects the score. In fact, there are many changes to the report that do affect one's score (possibly a great deal) and yet will not trigger a score update. I'd say the single most common post here on the forum is someone asking why paying down his credit card debt (e.g. from $2000 to $100) caused his score to drop. The veterans here have to explain each time that the score drop must have happened in the days or weeks before but was not considered by the myFICO Ultimate product to be an "alertable event."

When I said score update, I was referring to Fico 8 score. I stated 3B score update is every 90 days, which includes all the other scores. I'm not sure of all the factors that generate a Fico 8 score update, but I do know that I get them regularly. I do get an alert when my balances change. While I may not be explaining this perfectly, I'm explaining it the best I know how.
Well I went ahead and purchased it anyway. I'm bummed that the other scores only update every three months but I was curious to see what my scores were anyway. Especially my mortage scores. I will cancel this service before my 30 days is up and buy again 4 months from now to see where my mortage score is at since I am planning on buying a home next year. My scores are all over the place! Lol. But thank you for the info!

Hi Treasure. I don't think you stated (in your initial response) that any of the scores would be updated only every 90 days. Your initial response told our OP that he'd get his reports every 90 days, but that he'd get his scores (no restriction to FICO 8 Classic only) updated every time there was a score change.
Not giving you a hard time, I promise. It's just that lots of people besides you and me read these threads and I am really speaking for the benefit of newcomers like the OP, especially since it involves laying out money. Important that he gets clear what the products do and don't.
I appreciate the looking out for people and especially the laying down the money part. There was a bit of mis information but I know now and I can inform others if I see this topic come up again in the future. No hard feelings Tresurecredit. Your response did read to me that I'd get updates on all of my scores but it's ok. I saw that my mortage scores need a little bit more work and that's what I wanted to know in the end. No harm, no foul. Thanks for your knowledge CreditGuyInDixie. These forums are awesome! I appreciate the info!

Feel free to ask if you need to know how to optimize your mortgage scores. The mortgage models are a bit different from FICO 8.
