On my report, I have an account from American General / AIG that is showing an open balance.
However, a long time ago, the account was "sold" to a collection agency (Mercantile Adjustment). And many months ago (July '08), I settled the account with Mercantile and paid it off.
Should AIG (Aig Fed Sv) still show an open balance? Under the details, the Date Closed section says "Not reported." And under the description, it states "Charged off account" and "Charge."
I was going to dispute it, but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.
