Question about Inquiries and Mortgage

Hi all,

I have somewhat of a noob question for ya.

1. If I apply for a credit card, will an inquire stay on my CR for a few years whether or not I am approved?

2. I'm 24, I don't have any CC's yet, I expect to get one this year. I want to be able to get a small morguage from my bank by the time I'm 28, but by that time I will have had credit history for only 4 years. Do I need a longer credit history to be approved for a small morguage of no more than 200 thousand?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Question about Inquiries and Mortgage

Welcome to the forums ! Regardless of whether you are approved, inquiries will remain on your credit report for two years but will only be included in FICO® scoring for one year. You have plenty of time to establish credit before you apply for a mortgage, just make sure you keep your utilization low and make all payments on time.

There is no better time than now to start your credit history.  Where ever the road leads, always pay on time, and if possible early and in full. Good luck!

Re: Question about Inquiries and Mortgage

Can you remove inquiries that you did not authorize?  I have two inquiries and I do not have any idea who is the company.  The name is EMS.
