Question about credit inquiries

I was going over the credit inquiries on my Experian report and came across one from a collection agency. I never remember giving them permission to pull my credit for ANY reason. Do they still require my authorization to access my credit report? What should I do about it? Thanks!!!  MIKE

Re: Question about credit inquiries

What would be some examples of permissible purposes that a collector can use to access my credit report? I don't want to start making accusations unless I know that they were in the wrong. The collection agency was for my student loan(which is now not in default status woo hoo!!) Thanks again!!

Sounds like they have PP if your account was close to or in collections. Not much you can do but ask them to remove the Inq.
