Question about old collections

is it the norm for CRA's to both report the original creditor and the collection agency who took over the account even after its paid off for 3 years? is this a double hit to my score or is it seen as one account?

Yes, it's normal, but they both cannot report the history of the account.  Since the collection agencey have the account only they can report the history.

OP I hope I answered your question before it got moved.  I normally don't come to General Credit and Rebuilding Credit  threads.  Those threads brings back unpleasant memories during the time I went through the rebuilding process in 2009. Goodluck!
