Question about paying a creditor

I have been paying off a debt one payment left. Should I have expected them to update my credit reports month over month as i pay it off? should I expect them to update after this last payment? I did not make an agreement prior to these 4 payments. I didnt get clarity on this. Thank you for your help.

If the account is listed on your credit reports, then you should expect them to report status monthly.

its a collection account. same thought process?
