Question on moving state and SOL

What if a person P moves from state A to State B.
Let us assume that State A has SOL of 6 years and State B of 3 years.

The credit card has had the delinquency or last payment around 2 years back.

Now if the person moves to state B , will it be legally out of SOL in 3 years time or will he/she have to wait for 4 years anyway?

Now let us examine a reverse case for a person P2 moving from state B to State A . What happens for him?

I am just curious!!

Re: Question on moving state and SOL

too many variables to answer this.

You would actually need to list the states in question and what state the "contract" was originated in.

Re: Question on moving state and SOL

And the contract (credit card) originated in Missouri. Got delinquent exactly 2 years back

Re: Question on moving state and SOL

Looks like the SOL in Missouri
Contracts: 5 years. Written contract for repayment of money or property, 10 years.

DC: Contracts: 3 years.

This would be something for an attorney to sort out-
My non-legal opinion is that it is 10 years until they were to sue you in DC.
