Question re different Experian report formats

In March I pulled my EX report from annualcreditreport.com and it had the 81 month payment history and full balance/payment data. I pulled (and paid for) a new report directly from the EX site today and it had none of that information - just the 24 month payment history and basic info - similar to the myFICO outlay.

So what gives?

How do I get an updated EX report in the same format as the one from annualcreditreport (don't mind paying)?

BTW - initially went to ACR.com, it said I already had obtained my free copy, sent me to the EX site to purchase and that's the short version report that came up.

Thanks for any input.

Re: Question re different Experian report formats

Thank you for bringing this up, I have experienced the very same thing.  I have ordered and paid for reports directly from Experian that I've received in the mail and, I've found the varying formats that you mentioned from them too.  The ONLY really thorough report is the one we are allowed to get once a year for free from annualcreditreport, otherwise, the "paid for" reports that come in the mail are more like what I get online from my credit monitoring service.

Re: Question re different Experian report formats

Commercial credit reports all vary in content and format.  It is impossible, no matter where you get a CR, to get a complete report of your entire credit file.

Your file is an extensive set of segments, codes, and information that is for the most part, irrelevant to normal needs, and thus commercial credit reports all make some determination as to what they will provide.  Some, for example, dont even include very significant info, such as a DOFD when a collection or charge-off is reported.

The annualcreditreport.com site differs in content from most others, in my opinion, because of what it is.  That site is the FTC-sanctioned site for the CRAs to comply with their FCRA requirement to provide a free report annually.  I would suspect that, with the obvious benefit of being able to fulfill their FCRA obligation on a web site, they are a bit more concerned that it comply with disclosure requirements.  Just my speculation, but experience seems to show reports from that site are a bit more comprehensive.

Other commercial sites have no such concerns, and pretty much offer what they want.
