Question regarding PFD's

I am new to the forum so pardon me if I am a bit reduntant.  I have a question regaring PFD's.  I had a few collections on my report that I paid in full before coming across the PFD concept.  My question is this.  Would it be realistic to go back to the collection agencies and offer to pay additional monies to delete the entry from my CR?  Has anyone tried this?  Thanks.

Re: Question regarding PFD's

A PFD letter would be sent to try and settle before making payment. You have already paid..try a GW letter. I would think to now pay for a deletion would be illegal.

A PFD  means that you will pay the bill & are asking for it to be deleted at time of payment.

If they were settled for less than the full amount, then there is something left that owed which you could use to try and negotiate a PFD.

However, if it is PIF, should you offer more money to delete they are probably going to start thinking fraud of some sort, or perhaps that you're trying to "sting" them.

I would give GW a shot.
