For anyone who finds themselves in this situation, I'd advise figuring out where you want to be with your credit in 1 year, 2 years, and 5 years, working out what it's going to take to get there, writing it all down, and then posting it on your computer. Or your fridge. Or your bathroom wall, or wherever you do a lot of gazing.
If you don't have some sort of long-term vision and a plan of reaching it, you're going to have a lot of unplanned off-road credit excursions. And all they do is slow you down and set you back.
GL on the CC forum boycott. You're not the only one who gets sucked in over there.
