RANT: even EQUIFAX is Outsourced?

what the **bleep** is this world coming to? i didnt realize Equifax was outsourced until I called in today to make a dispute on my report.

not even a crucial and already frustratingly time consuming service like consumer credit can be saved from beeing outsourced? seriously **bleep**! i just wasted an hour of my lunch on the phone with some monotone singleton who does not have a clue what he is doing ... nothing is sacred no more!

Oh, did you ask them where they are?  

And they replied, "In the US."  

And then you asked, "Which state?"  

And they said, "Uh, Florida."  

And then you asked, "What time is it?"   

And there was this LONG pause as the befuddled person tried to figure out the time difference...?  

And then you finally said, "Transfer me to someone in the US please?"

I LOVE doing the time question to them!  I almost always get transferred to someone who is physically in the USA!  And it's usually a higher dept that just customer service.

and I am not racist by any means, I just cant believe something as delicate as consumer credit could be outsourced. These are not DELLL computers, this is highly sensitive personal information that has a huge impact on peoples lifes if some nonsense like typos and errors go on your file. and guess where the communication breaks down and most of those mistakes take place ...

im really not a big fan of Eqifax now

I had a similar thing happen to me with EQ this past week.  I called to dispute something on my cr.  I had some problems trying to talk to the person on the other end of the line.  Finally, I asked where he was located.  He said, well this is a "Georgia" phone number, but I am located in India.  Well, needless to say, I didn't get anywhere with him so I hung up.  The next day, I called and cancelled my SW.  You can think what you want about me, but I will not try to talk to someone who can not speak or understand  English.  When I call an "American" company, I expect to speak with someone who can converse in English.

Much can be said about India's population explosion, as a matter of fact,  with a current population of 1.5 billion.

they are expected to surpass China by 2030.

With that many people, they need jobs in order to sustain life.   I am a believer in the rights of others, so,

as long as they are friendly to the U.S.,   I can accept their ambition to prosper and sustain their population.

 With that being said, India, as long as they remain friendly, should be able to share in the overall global prosperity.

This is nothing compared to what I am dealing with TU nowadays. Their CSRs are in Dallas, California and Houston, Washington  (alternate dimention USA)...

EQ routinely, in some geographic areas, contracts all of their CRA activities, including reportng and maintenance of your credit file.  They are legitimate CRAs under the FCRA. In those areas, you must deal with the CRA contractor.

Is your issue one of dealing with a customer service rep for EQ itself, or are you being refferred to a contractor CRA?

There was an article a while back (sorry, no link) that talked about how many identities were being stolen as a direct result of outsourcing the banking, the products, the customer service, etc.  It talked about the whole scope of identity theft to include getting passports and moving to the US.

Not a thing we can do about it, either.
