New with Amex as of November so thanks for this. I already force myself to enter the next due date (and statement date if available) in my app and re-confirm it every week just in case, but it's good advice for sure.
My current Amex statement date has been floating backwards for some reason, think it was the 24th of November, then the 26th of December, now the 26th of January. Wonder what February will be!
Haha... it'll stabilize, eventually.
My statement cut date is always on the 11th (though it started as the 12th and moved to the 11th in the second month and stayed that way) -- but in February, it changes to the 8th. You can screw up util for sure if not paying attention - and having to wait an entire month to fix it is unbelievably frustrating.

My Amex BCP is my AZEO card now because with a $6000 CL, the AZEO limit is $539, and I spend around $120-$150/week on groceries and around $2 every 6 weeks on gas (lol). So it's pretty easy to manage my statement balance for sure -- I just PIF at statement cut, and the next month it's always under $539 anyway so I let it ride. But definitely am lucky in this situation that my AZEO balance and my monthly usage amount are very close.
Yess, I'm typically in the same boat -- balance low enough to allow that one card to report without the need to pay down first. But I had heavy spend this month (pre-planned large purchases), so paydown is necessary.

I tested 28% utilization on two cards a few months ago and my scores dropped only a few points (aggregate utilization < 8.9%) so I also know that letting something large report isn't FICO ending -- and on huge balances it may allow me to eek out a few more bucks in high yield savings, haha!
I keep telling myself to test my profile response to an increase of 28% util spanned over a couple of cards -- but I honestly can't handle it when I lose points - even when I know I can get them back easily the following month. I worked so hard to earn those points -- I'm emotionally attached to them (gosh, this sounds so sad). I figure I'll get over that after I stay in this range for another six months or so, then I may be willing to play a little. Or maybe not. I don't know. But I'm incredibly grateful for folks like yourself whom are willing to be guinea pigs.
