Well that bites. My Fico 8 is way lower than my Fico 9. My Fico 9 is great. So I guess I will scratch off Truist for a debt consolidation moment considering I've read they require a 700 and my f8 is not that.

Hi Tiersha,
Truist then BBT was one of the first major unsecured cards I had outside of Bankruptcy besides my Capital One card. I think my score at the time was 620. I would recommend applying in branch. No one can be certain what they will give you, they are a more conservative bank. However, their limits can be quite generous. The branch manager can argue for you to UW.
I believe they now soft pull when you open a deposit account to see if they have any offers for you. Also, check out their prequalify tool here: https://creditcard.digitalcommerce.truist.com/product/dcfo
Don't be discouraged if you don't prequalify online.
Hey thanks. I actually found branches within an hr and a half. I have great repayment history, just looking for a consolidation loan and well if they have products that will meet all my needs, at this time I would be willing to move all of my accounts also.
@Tiersha I'm in NJ and they pull EQ BEACON 5.0 (mortgage score). Good luck!
They pull a mtg score for a debt consolidation or lower apr card? I find that somewhat odd. maybe not so odd on the loan side.

@Tiersha I thought you were asking about credit cards?
Yes, EQ-5 was pulled twice, for credit card application and the credit line increase. And fyi, some FI's do use a mortgage score.
For example, on my personal apps these are the FI's that pulled mortgage scores-
EQ-5: AOD Credit Union, BB&T/Truist, SECU MD
EX-2: PSECU, Service Credit Union
Here's a link to the latest thread on who pulls what score. See Grid #2, Notes Section.
