Re-aging?

I have an old Cap 1 account that was charged off.  DOLA was 10/00.  Equifax notes Charge off starting in 8/05 (note on report as "CO" but then 1/06 it look like I have paid it's noted with an * (in 81 month history), which I believe looks like I've made a payment) and then again in July 07?  Is this re-aging?  I was hoping this was going to fall of my CR this year.  Is there anything I can do about this?  I have made no payments on this account at all.  Thanks.

I wuld dispute it.  Sounds like it if it is showing a history and you never paid it.  I would reqest a debt verification from them showing the exact dates of last delinquency and date of chargeoff. you may want to wait til nov to see if it acutall comes off.
