Re opening Discover account?

I have a discover acct that was closed, i have about 2 lates. has anyone ever gotten discover to reopen their account after significantly paying down their balance and the acct being closed for a period of time??

From what I have read here, Discover is pretty ruthless on credit checking. You could always give it a shot.
