Rebate Checks in May?

So I keep hearing different things and dates for these rebate checks some of us may be getting. Does anybody know in fact if we get them in May or are they spread out for different dates?

Depends on whether you had your regular tax return direct deposit or mailed.

Your rebate check will be sent the same way. If you used a refund anticipation loan(RAL) or did rapid return(RR).....it will be mailed.

Direct Deposit is in May. Mailed checks is after that. It goes by the last 2 digits of the primary taxpayer.

Someone posted a link on here not too long ago with the dates from the IRS. This is how it is supposed to be: If you had your tax refund direct deposited, your rebate will be direct deposited. The date goes by the last 2 numbers of your SSN. These rebates will be done first. I believe these will be done before the end of May. The rest will be sent by mail, again according to the last 2 of your SSN. These can take longer to get.

Economic stimulus payments will be issued according to the last two-digits of the main filer's Social Security number. People who use direct deposit also will be among the first to receive the payments starting May 2. Paper checks will be put in the mail starting May 16.

DIRECT DEPOSIT

Last two SSN digits: Payment will be transmitted:

00 through 20 May 2

21 through 75 May 9

76 through 99 May 16

PAPER CHECK

Last two SSN digits: Payments will be mailed by:

00 through 09 May 16

10 through 18 May 23

19 through 25 May 30

26 through 38 June 6

39 through 51 June 13

52 through 63 June 20

64 through 75 June 27

76 through 87 July 4

88 through 99 July 11

People who file a return after April 15 will receive their economic stimulus payment, but probably about two weeks later than the schedule shows. A return must be filed by October 15 in order to receive a stimulus payment this year. See the online calculator for an estimate of the amount you will receive.

A small percentage of tax returns will require additional time to process and to compute a stimulus payment amount. For these returns, stimulus payments may not be issued in accordance with the schedule above, even if the tax return was processed by April 15.

Is there a good article or site out there that defines what the rebates should be. I keep getting conflicting information, last thing I read said if you were single no kids, you would get $600, but all my friends state $300.

The IRS website has a calculator on it that figures it for you.

If you had to pay taxes to the IRS (send them money) then you'd be eligible for the $600, if you filed and received a refund and made over $3000 you'd get the $300, is the basic concept. And then the additional 300 per kid.

There's a calculator on the site also
