Rebuilding credit...

Hi I currently have a TU 570 and EQ 537 Source: Creditkarma. I have about $11,000 in debt one being a repo.

I have

Wells Fargo secured: $300 limit, 25% util.

CapitalOne Platinum: $300 limit, 15% util

Kohls retail: $300, 28% util.

Im also looking to trade in my car for a newer one I have 3 months left on the loan it was $10,000 (my wifes car is now unreliable) I am paying on my repo of $8,000 auto

So my question is, what should be my next move? Just a year ago my credit score were high 400's

Keep in mind that Credit Karma's scores are only relevant to creditors that use the VantageScores that CK provides.  Most creditors use a FICO model.  You cannot use a score generated by one model to determine a score generated by another model.  If you want to know what a creditor will pull for you then you need to know the model and CRA that they use and then go pull that score.

First suggestion is to always address derogs as they tend to have a major impact and hold one's scores down as long as they're on reports.  Hit the Rebuilding subforum and carefully research.

Re: Rebuilding credit...

I have 1 late payment with a charge account, I called them to see if they can remove the negative remark (late payment). Cant I get it removed? I have 2 accounts in collections ($682) I used to have 6, I do have a lot of inquiries however - 48, I have 28 falling off this year.

Wells Fargo - $200

Cap1 Platinum - $800 increasing to $1,000 at end of January

Just got approved for Cap1 Quicksilver - $500

Repo I'm paying - $7,650

Current Auto - $4,100
