Credit karma says to have somewhere between 11-20 accounts/line of credit. However, on the other hand, if someone goes on having more than 11 credit card (for example), it is going to affect the credit age. How to balance both the things if I want to go for more than 11 credit cards and avoid the length of credit falling down?
Don't trust any of those pretty fluff charts and graphs that CK gives you with ranges on there with the standard green, yellow and red stuff making you think that you need to be in the "green" range to be ideal. 11-20 counts is completely unnecessary for a file and should never be a goal. As stated above, 3 credit cards is more than enough. Many people have reached an 800 score with just 1 credit card and a total of 5 or so accounts on their credit report.
