Removing an inquiry

I just sent off a dispute letter to remove several inquiries.  My FICO will write the letter for you.  They say that  "mortgage inquiries" are NOT credit inquiries but are a pre approval for a large purchase.  According to the letter that MyFico generated the inquiries should be removed.

I had no idea you can have inquiries removed.

Has anyone had any luck with that????

Yeah, you can get them removed. I have been quite successful in getting inquiries removed actually. Most of them got removed directly by the CRA and the ones that persisted, I wrote the original source and they removed it. I only had ONE that didn't come off, not a bad average actually.
