Hey gang this may sound like a stupid or a question with an obvious answer but I thought I would ask it anyway, it is possible to call a company and ask them to send something to the CRB's to have an account removed?
Here's the story, back in 2004 I had a Scana energy account while living in GA., well I moved to FL in 2005 and I called to have my service disconnected, well the person I spoke to never said anything about having a balance, turns out I had a balance of $27. Make a long story short, I didn't know anything about owing this $27 until I checked my credit report in 2008 (prior to that I wasn't really concerned about my, DUMB I know!!) and there it was, a $27 charge-off, I contacted Scana and immediately paid it. Right now that da** charge off is killng my credit score. Is there anything that can be, aside from just waiting until it falls off?

Hi Gibran,
You could send them a GW request for deletion. There are many great examples of the letters on this sight. Do a search for GW letters.
A good will letter is exactly that. You are asking them to extend a favor. See if you can find the names of some of the managers or directors in the company. Send the letters to them. Explain your particulars and ask if they would be willing to help. Keep the tone polite and humble. I have had many successes and, so far, one that won't budge. It may take a few attempts. Don't be discouraged if the first answer is "no".
Best of luck,
CB
Thanks CB I'll give that a shot. If I can get that removed, my score would definitely shoot up
