Repair Plan - advice?

I consolidated credit info in a spreadsheet. Was looking for some feedback on my "plan" column. Just bought house on seller contract, and need to refi July 2012. Thought I should ignore anything before 2010 and try to get rid of anything that I can after. In the meantime, will open some TL's and make some new pos hx that is weighed more heavily. I am posting the spreadsheet next. Thoughts anyone?

Re: Repair Plan - advice?

in one form or another yes. at least 5 of them are for a student loan that gets resold all over the place, and I am currently paying on, and then there are 5 others that are duplicates but also resold so they all get to stay on there apparently.

Let's not rub salt into the wound, eh?  There is ALWAYS someone in a much worse situation.  Perhaps OP is lucky to have a roof overhead and food on the table (and access to a computer).

Re: Repair Plan - advice?

Hi orhippychic,

It's a pretty good plan, but a word of advice - DON'T IGNORE THE STUDENT LOANS IF THEY WERE FEDERALLY FUNDED!

Federally funded student loans, like taxes and child support, has NO SOL for collection.   Plus, the government can get a judgement against you without going to court AND they are allowed to garnish your wages (up to 25% of your pay) and your bank accounts until you satisfy the debt.   My brother tried to ignore his student loans, and he got the surprise of his life when he received a copy of a letter from the federal government to his employer about garnishing his wages for his unpaid student loan!

If the student loans were federally funded, I would start paying them.

As for your Aspire card, you may be able to negotiate for a 0% interest rate which will allow you to pay it off quicker.
