Reporting lags are frustrating.

Wow...it seems I paid off all my cc debt the day after most cards reported to bureaus.

The wait for this score jump is agonizing.

LOL, please understand, my comments are not in any way meant as an insult, but this is a generational difference (I think).  Back in the day it could be weeks, months even when someone would order something from an ad at the back of a magazine before the product arrived on your doorstep, in this day and age, my wife and I raised our kids in a (near) instant gratification world; order online today, get it tomorrow.

The above analogy kind of holds true for credit scores as well, I finished my Chapter 13 in March of 2020 and have been looking forward to March 2022 for my scores to jump; in the meantime they are something of a curiosity, but meh, I can wait.  Smiley Tongue

Chapter 13:

  • Burned: AMEX, Chase, Citi, Wells Fargo, and South County Bank (now Bank of Southern California)
  • Filed: 26-Feb-2015
  • MoC: 01-Mar-2015
  • 1st Payment (posted): 23-Mar-2015
  • Last Payment (posted): 07-Feb-2020
  • Discharged: 04-Mar-2020
  • Closed: 23-Jun-2020

I categorically refuse to do AZEO!

I feel your pain. I actually paid off some cards BEFORE they usually report, and they haven't reported yet. A credit report I pulled on annualcreditreport.com shows $0 balances. I just bought the MyFICO 1 bureau report to see what would happen, and suddenly my FICO 8 for that bureau jumped 15 points.

FICO 8:
EQ: 1/2018: 494 | 4/2021: 652 (+158)
TU: 1/2018: 536 | 4/2021: 657 (+121)
EX: 1/2018: 499 | 4/2021: 641 (+142)

Mortgage Scores:
EQ: 9/2020: 560 | 4/2021: 648 (+88)
TU: 9/2020: 564 | 4/2021: 649 (+85)
EX: 9/2020: 576 | 4/2021: 672 (+96)

Re: Reporting lags are frustrating.

I feel your pain. There's no doubt that there's a lag in reporting sometimes which forces you to buy a report(s) to see the changes. I've said this many times before and I'm not totally convinced that it's a timing issue. Spending an additional 15.00 to get a single report and to see there are significant score changes on that report that were not updated in a timely manner infuriated me in the past.
