OK, so we went to apply for a mortgage yesterday and I was OK but my partner has something out there that we are told must be resolved before we can be approved. Basically, he had a automobile that he had finanaced through a credit union. Whan he was unable to make payments he "voluntarily repossed" the vehicle - meaning he returned the vehicle to the credit union. There is now a judgement against his credit for this loan. It does not show up as a collection or repo but as an actual judgement - which can turn into a lien against any property he may buy/own. I did not think a repo could become a judgement. Any advice? He plans on calling about it but I wanted to inquire here first.
