Revolving credit updated with credit bureaus?

When does the credit bureaus get the updated balances for your credit cards?   I just paid off several cards.  Do I have to wait until the cycle date?   A week after the cycle date??

When I paid on a collection I was told it would update next quarter. They said if I needed it corrected sooner to dispute it. I am not really sure about credit cards. The one I do have it shows monthly updates.

Hi tuneup. Good question!

Most ccc's update to the CRA's 2 or 3 days after the due date on your cc stmt. Others, like HSBC report on the last business friday of every month. Then again, there are one or 2 who report twice monthly. So it all depends on the individual ccc.

I called all my ccc's and asked them when they report to the CRA's just to be on the safe side. Many here have done the same.

But on the other hand, we've had many posters who report here that their cc pmt. has not been updated in 60 days or more. They have gone to the ccc and asked them why, and the ccc says they have. It's up to the CRA to update your file. THEN the posters go to the CRA and the CRA says "we update your file as soon as we get the info from your ccc".

So, go figure.
