Sallie Mae Fax #? GW Success?

I agree with the shadow. I GW'd Sallie Mae 3 times for lates in 04 and they told me they have to report correct info so if you truly missed their reporting it.

It cant hurt to try. I have 6 straight lates, the oldest being 10 months shy of 7 full years. I'm hopeful that the removal of those 6 lates will result in a nice boost. I haven't had a late since that last Sallie Mae 6 years ago and yet every report I pull mentions them as if they happened yesterday. Ugh.

Yeah it's worth trying over and over. Sooner or later, they will get tired of all your letters and approve your request. I guess it just depends on who opens the letter and reads them.

From reading the forums, it seems an almost impossible task to get Sallie Mae to goodwill lates. There seem to be two addresses floating around the one in Wilkes Barre and the one in Lynn Haven. Does anyone know the difference between the two or if one of them seems to be easier to work with?

Also, does anyone know how diligent Sallie Mae ia at responding to (paid in full or not mine) disputes on accounts there were closed (paid in full) 3+ years ago.

Despite me explaining in my really nice really apologetic GW letter that my pmts were late b/c we had moved overseas b/c my DH is AD USMC, I got a letter back explaining Sallie Mae can only report accurate info.

So then I had to get legal-eagle on them and shoot back a really nasty letter that they had no CHOICE but to GW my lates b/c of the HEROES Act of 2003. NOW, they're responding and deleting the lates.

Bottom line, don't expect Sallie Mae to do jack crap, even the things they are legally required to do, until you hogtie them and shove the laws in their face.
