Score drop... why?

I was sitting pretty with a Transunion score in the 780s. One month I just dropped 40 points. How come? I still am keeping a good credit history. Although, I don't have the same job. I am on SSI with a disability. If anything, this is better than a job because I have a consistent, reliable income (from the government). So, why did I drop?

***EDIT***

I just noticed it is only my vantage score (which is unreliable). But that begs the question, "Why?"

Re: Score drop... why?

There's no way to know without a copy of the full report before and after the score change.  (That's two reports.)  Most likely it is the credit card balances that changed.  But it could be many other things.

What bureau was it and what tool are you using to monitor the Vantage score?

Re: Score drop... why?

I saw that on my TransUnion from CreditKarma.... I know not to trust THAT though. I looked at my TransUnion score (Fico score 8) from BOA and all is well. My balances did go up a bit this past month.
