Should I pay the OC or the CA?

for medical collections?  Since the PFD didn't work and they did validate should I send the payment to the the medical that provided the services or the CA that is reporting?  And if I do pay the OC can I then dispute with the CA that is reporting?

Did you try PFD with the OC?

Re: Should I pay the OC or the CA?

I recently asked what the best way to delete medical collections was.  I have also been researching another forum and they really recommend using the Hippa strategy.  I have a couple very small collections that I am going to offer a PFD for first to the OC, if they refuse, I will wait a little while and send payment anyway with the Hippa letter.

If you're referring to the WhyChat letter, read here then discard.

Re: Should I pay the OC or the CA?

Hmmm, it looks like a lot of people have had luck with Whychat's theory.  I've done nothing with medical collections yet, but that is all I have left really.  I have one collection that was paid to OC apparently after it was sent to collections, but before  I knew.  As a matter of fact, I never received any notice from CA at all.  It shows as unpaid and has come back verified several times.  I was thinking about sending the Hippa letter for paid medical.  The small ones I was going to PFD to the OC, but I am afraid they will only report to CA as paid and not delete.  I guess I'll can the Hippa idea and take my chances.  Thanks....

Re: Should I pay the OC or the CA?

So I should not use Whychat's HIPPA letter?  The OC is not reporting any of this to the credit bureaus, it is only the CA.  So where can I find a letter that I should send to the OC along with payment?  And also after payment can I send proof that they are paid to the CA?  Will they then have to show them as paid on my report?
