Should I pay this EMS bill? More details...

My dad passed away eariler this month.  I found him in his bed and called 911.  That is so ironic since I used to complain at how annoying he was and then he suddenly died from heart failure.  Today I received a $700 bill for having EMS come out.  Now here is the thing, they didn't address me directly on the bill.  They just had my dad's name and address listed on the bill.  So I am wondering if I am even resposible for the bill?  I am thinking about waiting to see what happens, but I don't want to risk and have it appearing on my credit report as a collection.

Sorry about your loss.

His estate is supposed to take care of that bill.

Thanks.  He lived in an apartment, he never owned anything, just had a lot of debts.  That is why I always had to come to the rescue and help him out with bills and everything else.  I really miss his good qualities and I loved him since he was my dad, but to be honest it is kinda bittersweet since I no longer fear him bossing me around 24/7 and waking me up to run an errand for him.  So was the bill to him or me?

Sorry for the loss. I don't believe you would have any obligations in regards to the bill. It's like saying I called the EMS for my friend and suddenly the EMS is pinning the bill on me.

EMS responded to take care of him, not of you. It is not your bill.

My condolences for your loss. Relationships between parents and adult children can be really complex.
