Simple quetion looking for simple answer

Backstory:

1.I found problems with my credit report. Went to TransU. They removed the 2 collections accounts and my score went up to 785.

2. Went to Eq and they did nothing. Didnt fix it, nothing. score 689?

3. Went to Ex and they did nothing. Didnt fix it, nothing. Score 675?

My question is:

How do I get Eq and Ex to listen to me? Can I tell them "TransU rightly removed these 2 accounts and I want you to also"?

Basically I need way to contact them that will yield results.

The 2 collections accound are not correct and need to be removed. But I cant figure out any way to get them to listen.

Do I re-write them, again? Can I call and find out who to speak to, who will listen?

Thanks in advance.

Gail

Re: Simple quetion looking for simple answer

Gail,

Unfortunately the answer may not be as simple. Some background will be needed before you can be guided in the right direction. Smiley Happy

First, when you say they are "not correct" please elaborate. Are they not yours, no way no how, you have already asked for debt validation from the collection company and can verify they don't belong to you based on the address/SSN/timeline of the collection? Or are they yours, but some of the information that is being reported is incorrect?

If you can let us know more about why you feel these collections are not correct, we will be able to steer you to the best course of action for having them removed!

Thanks Smiley Happy

Unfortunately, the simple answer is that credit bureaus do not play follow the leader.  Just because one credit bureau takes a specific action does not mean the remaining credit bureaus will.

Sorry if this wasn't the answer you were looking for, but every CRA is different. And every dispute/fight is unique.

Re: Simple quetion looking for simple answer

Section 611(a) is the process of disputing with a CRA.

The CRA then refers the information to the OC or CA that posted in the CR for verification.

Apparently, one CRA verified, and removed.l  However, under the FCRA, it is not necessary that the consumer dispute with each CRA.  Section 623(b)(1)(D) requres the following of the OC or CA:

"if the investigation finds that the information is incomplete or inaccurate, report those results to alll other consumer reporting agencies to which the person who furnished the information and that compile and maintain files on consumers on a nationwide basis;"

The OC/CA should have sent any finding of removal to the other CRAs, and not just the one who sent them the verification request.

Re: Simple quetion looking for simple answer

They are mine. One account was put into collections about 6 years ago and the doctor is no longer practicing.

The other was by the hospital. I forgot to pay and they put me in collections. I disputed it and TRans took both off my record. The basic fact is it WAS my fault and I didnt pay. The amount was $85.00. But I still dont want it on my record

Is there any phone number to call? Anyone to speak to? I just saw that Eq is now reporting my NEW address wrong. The only option I have is to do an online dispute. When I click on the address the only option the system gives me is "You never lived at this address, correct?".

But I (obviously) want the 2 collections off my reports of Eq and Ex.

Let me know if you guys need more info.

Re: Simple quetion looking for simple answer

Unfortunately, things don't work that way. You've admitted that they were your debts and it was your fault they went to collections. They don't get removed just because you don't want them there.

Seeing as these are medical debts, I would advise you read the thread in my signature regarding medical collections.

As for this thread, it is ending here. I am locking it.
