So I paid $8000

on my accounts, which have reported.  I gained TWO POINTS.  All that sacrifice for two points.

What kind of debt?  If it was revolving, what was the utilization before and after?

The dollar amounts of your payments mean nothing in and of themselves.  It's only the change in utilization percentage that will get you points.

What're your scores at now?

And just curious, but what kind of interest charges are you accruing per month on that much debt?

Re: So I paid $8000

Does all that $42K actually report as available credit?

Re: So I paid $8000

Yes, $42,000 is showing.  About 30% of the $16k remaining is 0% interest until Jan 09, which I will let ride.  The rest I think I'll have paid off very quickly.  Just paid off sons student loans..except for $2k

We borrowed $50,000 or thereabouts.
