Re: So my cat is in labor :)

Were you the one with the sally mae issues?  if so how did that turn out?

Just an FYI..my cat is almost 30 lbs.  he gained when I got him neutered, I put him on a diet because he got kitty diabeties.. now he just lays spread eagle on the floor.  People think he's a dog.

I wish I had kittens....can you mail me one? Smiley Happy

Re: So my cat is in labor :)

The other night I woke my mother up at 2:30 a.m. cause my cat was lying (on my bed) dead face up, mouth open, and paws up! I moved her, called her name...nothing.  So, my Mom flipped out and we ran back to my room where we found her yawning and barley opening her eyes!

Re: So my cat is in labor :)

I have 5 kids and the cat is exhausted all of the time, so that happens to me too!! he just lays there on his back.  I thought it might be kitty coma, but I really think he's just that tired.

FTR, he weighs more than my 3 youngest kids...ha ha

Re: So my cat is in labor :)

We just lost our 21 year old cat last month, I still miss her horribly.  The DD (aged 12½) and the remaining cat needed companionship so we adopted a 2 year old who is about 4 pounds last week.

Fortunately, the new one has been fixed, so no litters are in our future.

Hope you have a small litter and many willing friends who will adopt the little needle-clawed darlings.

Re: So my cat is in labor :)

Thought I'd warn you to make sure the cat doesn't go hide in your bed to do her business with the labor.  Might want to put her in a bathroom with a blanket, or something.

I had a cat that had clawed open the bottom of the couch (under) and climbed inside and had her babies there...yummy cleaning that up...

I had to tip the couch over and pull them out...lovely time, really.

Re: So my cat is in labor :)

Congratulations!!
I have 3, hence the username, all of which have been fixed from the age of 7 months. So no baby kitties for me except the ones I have now.
Each one has a distinct "purr-sonality" (sorry, I know, bad jokeSmiley Very Happy)
Love them all-they are my children.
Good luck.

Re: So my cat is in labor :)

This isn't the first time we've rescued a pregnant Momma... the first one, we rescued before Xmas & was pregnant... she had her litter on Xmas day, on my daughter's bed (top bunk). Grody.

One was all white and developed light grey ear & tails from 3-8wks of age, so now we know the Momma cat had some siam/burmese background. of course, we kept that kitten, she was gorgeous. And we named her Christmas!

This one is curled up under my dresser... I got a towel underneath her. We got her a birthing box but she had no interest in it; why would she when she could ruin our white carpet instead! NOT keeping any kittens from this litter, and I think we're over the rescuing/spaying/neutering/rehoming kick, too!
