Re: Some Suggestions When Posting

Don't catch attitude when no one responds to your post the moment it hits the boards. Sometimes ya luck out and that happens, but don't expect it. I can't speak for others, but I ain't drawing a paycheck to be here. I have a job, a wife, kids, and a life.

You mean you're not getting the monthy check ... ?  Ooooops. JK

Of course, you know we're preaching to the converted in this thread. ..

Another plea:  If you're writing up a long story, use more than one continuous paragraph.  If people can't read your post, they won't respond.

Also what state you live in.   Especially if you have questions about Statute of Limitations and related matters.   Each state is different and by telling us what state you live it would help in getting quicker answers.

Also it is always nice to hear updates on situations you posted and advice was given.   So if you post a problem and the people here give out some advice, it's alway great to hear of the outcome came to be.

Re: Some Suggestions When Posting

Surprised no one mentioned using appropriate subject lines. Something like "XYZ! Help!" where XYZ is someone's username is neither helpful nor descriptive. If you have something for a particular user, send them a private message - not spam the board with it. Otherwise, take the time to write a useful subject.

Re: Some Suggestions When Posting

It's worth repeating that one should not be afraid to ask a question. But understand there might be details folks need to ask in order to clarify the situation so they can give you a good answer. Almost everyone's situation is different, and a seemingly unimportant detail might truly be very important.

Try to hear the answers you are getting, even if they aren't what you wanted to hear or were expecting to hear.

The right answer might not be what you want or expect, but it could still be the right answer.

If the answers you're getting don't make sense, re-read your post and re-read the answers you're getting. If needed, read your post aloud. There might be a not, and or but out of place changing the entire meaning of your question.

If things still aren't making sense, post additional info. Think aloud and post those thoughts.

But to find a graceful way of staying slid
