That is not necessarily true. If you e-filed with TurboTax your check will be mailed to you. I used Turbo Tax and mailed the IRS what I owed.  In the filing process there was a provision calling for direct deposit information for the sole purpose of receiving a direct deposit of the stimulus check.

Remember they are sending 800,000 rebates today, Tues, and Wed, nothing thurs and 5 million rebates on Friday.... most people in the first wave will be in the Friday grouping.

When the IRS deposited my 2007 tax return, it was titled "US Treasury 220 Tax Refund" So basically, that means, my rebate check will be deposited to my checking account, not mailed(which would suck)

"ACH DEPOSIT TAX REFUND PER RALDEPT" = mailed

"AUTOMATED CREDIT US TREASURY 220 TAX REFUND" = direct deposit

on the brighter side, i read all rebates should be mailed my june 11th.
