Is Ams-Sg an abbreviation for something? Contact information should be on your credit report.

Re: Student Loans

www.nslds.ed.gov. - you will need your social security number and register to get a pin number if you don't have one. The database keeps track of any student loans you have and how much you owe. Hope this is what you are looking for.

Re: Student Loans

This site is the greatest.... I went to that website and the info needed was right there... My next question is Should I call them and ask for a gw (paying as agreed), reason for it being defaulted is b/c direct loans consolidated my school loans and left them out during the process but later paid them once it was discovered unpaid.... Thanks To all

Re: Student Loans

Just contact DOE or the lender or the CA collecting on the account and ask for a rehab-

Re: Student Loans

It couldn't hurt to call and ask, but I think it's better to keep everything in writing. And if the phone call works, you've saved yourself a bunch of time and effort for putting together a GW letter.

Re: Student Loans

The Goverment rehab program-
Make 9 on-time payments and they remove the default status and remove the collections- (mark n Current/OK)
They will NOT remove the old late payments- if someone tells you they will -get it in writing-
This will also allow you to be eligable for FHA and other goverment loans (including student loans) again.

Re: Student Loans

If you paid the loan before going though Rehab- this is the unfortunate result-
