Synchrony Soft Inquiries

Hello all,

I have 12 Synchrony accounts that have been charged off from back in 2016.  All but two of them (Sams and Amazon) have been PIF (after CO). These accounts have been soft pulling me almost monthly. Sams and Amazon will be PIF in a couple of weeks.  None of these accounts have been sold or transferred to collections. Two questions:

1. Any idea of why Synchrony is still soft pulling on accounts that have been CO (including those already PIF)?

2. What, if any, is the ideal time frame to attempt to get back in with Synch after these next two accounts get PIF?

These are the only things negative on my CR's.

Thanks in advance!!!

They probably want to know if your financial situation has changed. If it's gotten better, they can try collecting or just file a lawsuit.

Re: Synchrony Soft Inquiries

Update: As of today, each and every one my Synchrony CO's have been PIF, and with $0 balance. I never did file BK, but paid each one whenever I could afford to. I know I need for these last 2 to update on the CR's, but any idea of the time frame Synch may let me back in or is it possible I could be blacklisted?

A good number of creditors definitely soft pull reports to see if debtors financial pictures have improved. That is the main reason that some people who are rebuilding their credit suddenly get hit with collections.

In your situation ( irregardless of what Synchrony would do at this time) I would concentrate on increasing scores higher at least into the 630-up range, make sure balances stay low and of course pay on time.

If you don't have an installment account getting a secured savings account like one from self-lender will add points by improving your credit mix.

Once your scores improve you could then try out some of the pre-approval sites to see where you stand, you don't want to waste hardpulls by applying for cards blindly.

Capitalone is one of the few cards I know that definitely practice forgiveness. I received 2 cards from them and still had a chargeoff that was 4 years old from them on my credit report.

Might be a good one to try down the line.

Good luck

Re: Synchrony Soft Inquiries

But remember if you have an open or closed installment loan on your CR, you will not get any more credit mix points by opening another loan.

However you can potentially get points for paying it down below 8.9% depending on where your capped due to your scorecard.
