So I finally decided to send Chase a letter who bought a very old (bout 6 years) CO account from Providian. I politely asked that they please stop reporting the account and delete the trade line from TransUnion (the only company that it is still reporting on).
Couple weeks later to my surprise I get a letter from Chase stating that the account will be deleted from my report. I call TU and dispute the account, and fax them the letter showing Chase's letter.
One week later I get a letter stating this dispute is frivelous because it had already been disputed in the past (it had). It said the only way to get it deleted was to provide them with a letter from the CC company stating it should be (which i did!).
Called TU and they said despite receiving the letter they cant delete a CO unless the CC company contacts them directly with this information .
Call Chase who says they will send them an update, but still no removal.
What is the point in obtaining a letter from the company if the CB won't even remove it.
Just kinda angry with this whole circle.
