Tax Liens

The Internal Revenue Service or the tax commission in your state will not put a tax lien on your credit report. This is as long as you file on time and communicate when you owe taxes from the previous year. But the key is to call them and explain your situation. In addition enclose a letter and sign it to make payment arrangements. AS long as you stick to the agreement to pay a certain amount each month then your credit report will not be affected. Now all this is also absed on the total blance thta is owed. For large amounts more than about $ 1,500 they may issue a tax lien and then satisfy it or ahve it deleted when you pay the full amount.

Re: Tax Liens

It is best to do what you can to avoid having the lien placed on your credit report.  I would not expect to have it removed when the liability was paid, unless there was a mistake in the reporting of the lien.  The most likely scenario is that the lien will be reported as released.
