Hopefully this is in line with the correct board, I have one issue with Telecheck I want to take care of because it is inhibiting me in opening a local credit union account.
The amount is roughly 250$, and I want to pay it out to resolve the issue but more importantly remove the entry from Telecheck. At the same time, once I do pay, not get it reported paid to EWS causing more damage. This was back I wanna say in 2006, no CA has reported this (knock on wood) and want to avoid it all together, and as of Monday I mailed a letter requesting a report from them to make absolutely sure on everything. With no CA reporting, it falls to the OC to proceed so the only ways I can think of is one of two plans:
1)Enter the bank branch, explain the situation and/or talk to the manager, get them to agree to take care of it same day and get it removed from reporting in writing.
2) Deal straight with Telecheck, once the report in hand pay them off, via mail trail, to get off their systems.
Any ideas to take care of it in the least amount of time would be good. I am hoping someone has had some luck in this, as all my Chexsystems issues I have settled them all via RJM PFD but I am sure they cannot remove Chexs only the bank can. Since I didnt deal with the OC they prob wont be helpful and as long as they are done out of my CR I am happy to allow the entries to drop via time.
I believe that the only person that can remove something from Telecheck is the creditor who put it there.
My daughter had a COd bank account on Telecheck. She paid the bank the money for the CO and an additional $25 to have them remove the account from Telecheck.
Took 24 hours for it to be removed.
I used to handle charged off bank accounts. All you need to do is go to the bank and tell them that you need to pay off a charged off account. Usually branch managers or the collections manager will help you. Make sure you get a letter from them stating that it has been paid as well as a receipt. Most often they may only report it as paid, but perhaps you can persuade them to remove it entirely.
