The push for reporting debit usage to CRA

I regularly receive emails from Change.org. The one I received the other day was put forth by Suze Orman. She wants to see debit card use become something for the CRAs to put on our reports. I'm curious to know what you all think.

In my own opinion, I don't think that is a reasonable request. Using a debit card automatically takes the money from your bank account. Different process from credit.

She stated that not reporting debit usage is unfair to those who 1) can't get credit or 2) those who don't want to use credit. I have to question the supposed inability to get credit. There are folks here who started out by getting secured cards (if they were completely new to credit or if they were rebuilding), and then moved on to bigger and better things. For point 2, those who refuse to use credit, well, it's time to rethink one's stance. Rather than looking at credit as quicksand, one should perhaps look at it as a tool, and a reputation-builder.

Those are my thoughts. Anybody else wanna chime in?
