I got a Torrid store card in August of this year and something weird happened on my CR. On EX I apparently have perfect payment history going back to May 2011! I kind of don't want to correct it because it can only help boost my scores but it IS really strange. It's reporting correctly on the other two reports. Do you think I should correct it or just reap the benefits of the positive reporting?
What is being reported as the Date Opened for the account?
That is the date that is used to calcualte its age in lenght of credit history scoring.
How the FICO algorithm might handle inconsistencies between the time from the Open Date and the reported Payment History Profile is hard to say, as that level of detail about the innards of the algorithm is not public. Personally, I would send an inquiry to the CRA and advise of the inconsistency. I would assume it resulted from a simple clerical keying input error. Has it persisted for a number of months, or does it appear for only one reporting?
The date opened is correct, it's just weird seeing all those months of payment under it. I didn't even think to check that date before you mentioned it. Should I call?
