I checked my TU FICO through my Walmart card today and it says I have a 730 score. I purchased my TU report from here on 6/22 and I had a 702 score. I can't think of anything that would've raised my score that much in a month. Does anyone know if these scores are calculated using the same method? If so, which is more "accurate"? Thanks.
It hasn't been confirmed yet which version of the TU score is offered through WM. We are all waiting to officially hear something.

If you google Wal Mart and Credit score there are several posts like the one in the link below that indicate it is a TU FICO score of unknown version. I presume 98.

After some thinking, since the last I knew myFICO still uses the outdated version (98), and the two scores are different, I'm betting the Walmart version is newer and thus more up-to-date. I did some brief research and some folks on this thread seem to agree:

I know the mods will disagree with me, but I think that this notion the Myfico scores from this site is outdated is inaccurate. I'm begining to believe that the Myfico scores are indeed up to date. If you call MyFico they will tell you over the phone that we are indeed purchasing the very latest version, not some outdated version.
And to back this up, I had two different credit bureaus run my credit recently. When asked of what they are seeing for my score, they both confirmed the exact same score I pulled on myfico, not a digit off.
No disrespect to the mods, but sometimes people feel that because of their position, then they must have a "answer". I encourage people to do their own research and follow up the info u receive on these forums. Not everthing the mods claim on these forums is correct.
It has been confirmed numerous times that myFico pulls TU-98 scoring model. Do some lenders use TU-98, certainly. That being said, most lenders do pull TU-04 now. For most people (not all), the TU score pulled here will not agree with their lender pulled score.

Well Legend, did they tell you what that latest version is? I haven't been on here much lately, but from what I remember myFICO was using the TU98 version and there was a couple of more recent versions since then - an 04 and 08 I belive. Obviously, the version I received from Walmart is not the same version and I wouldn't bet what a rep told you over the phone is necessarily accurate without being given more specifics. I'm guessing the Mods are statistically accurate on this one.

The moderators received the info about TU98 directly from the Big Kahuna himself.
They really don't pull this stuff out of the air.
The survey is now probably closed, but if you read the thread about the myFICO Product Survey, you'll see a post by the admin addressing this very issue.
