Trying to re-set SOL?

I just got a new credit report, and Portfolio is updated, saying I made a recent payment?? If I am reading this right, it looks like they are trying to re-set SOL. Any one agree or disagree?

Re: Trying to re-set SOL?

Re-aging is when the DOFD is changed so that the account remains on your CR longer.

Last reported date really means nothing except that the last time they updated with the CRA is that date. If they update monthly, that date will change monthly.

However, I see it shows a CA as the OC. I don't know for sure, but don't think they can do that.

Re: Trying to re-set SOL?

I noticed this also, the OC is actually HSBC auto. This is actually from a repo. Does anyone else know if they can report a CA as the OC? Also, where it says that I made recent payment, wouldn't that re-set SOL, if they were going to try and sue? I haven't made any payments. Thanks.

Where does it say that?

"Last reported" means the last time they reported the account to the CRA.

If they sue, they have to prove that you reset SOL anyhow.

Was that your most recent payment on the account?

I dont' think that field actually means the payment was recent but was the most recent payment. I am not sure though.

If it was a repo, they sold the vehicle....is that the amount it sold for?

It doesn't look like anything was re-aged and if they wanted to sue, they'd have to prove you made that payment. Not like you would have paid that much in cash.

Re: Trying to re-set SOL?

No I never made a payment for that much. It probably is the amount it sold for, POS Kia! lol
Does anyone know if they are allowed to report a CA as the OC?

Re: Trying to re-set SOL?

If Midland purchased the debt from the OC, and then hired the CA to collect it, then yes, it is reporting correctly. Your guess about the "recent payment" is probably correct, the amount due was decreased by the amount they got when they sold the car.
