Do you know if they would pull hard inq for opening a checking account with them? I dont want to add any more inq's to my CR.
Concord, neither did i, the csr offered verbal assurance that it would not include a HP. it seemed to me that he knew about hard pulls and was not just telling me what i wanted to hear in the moment. it was the most hassle free and quick acct i've ever opened, the csr was both friendly and v. knowledgeable.
even a checking acct. sans HP is a hard thing to find. Go USAA! they also refund up to $15 of atm fees per month, life time free checks, debit rewards. the savings or ANY mastercard can be linked to your checking as overdraft -it kind of feels like a foot in the door with a AAA lender, though it is unfortunately not full membership -just access to cheking, savings, and cd's.. i'm just thankful for that and don't want to step on any toes, since i understand some military members may prefer keeping it within that community.
bottom line, i honestly have not come across a checking account with better features that was such a cinch to open. so many banks seem to HP for checking (perhaps due to built in overdraft features, i guess).

Score...can you confirm there was no Hard Pull to open this checking acct? I am a full USAA member and interested in adding a checking acct, but don't want the hard pull.
no HP when i opened up checking at USAA
I opened a checking account today with USAA. No hard pull was done at all & I opened the account online. I thought I might get turned down because of chexsystems but, apparently, they don't check chexsystems either !!
