I got 2 calls this morning before 8 am, both asking if I had applied for a home equity loan on a townhouse that I no longer live in. Further I didn't own I rented it.
Both people I spoke with were very nice in helping me, the one said they got my information from Lendingtree.com. I have contacted all 3 credit bureaus and put an initial fraud alert on, I am contacting and filing a police report this morning.
I don't have much in the way of credit. What else do I need to do. They haven't done much yet.
I didn't file anything with the FTC because they hadn't actually achieved anything yet.
