I was reviewing my credit report last night and I noticed a "key derogatory" mark from "Unique National Collection Agency." I did some google searching and found out that this is where the library reports past due payments. I am very frustrated because I have never received any phone calls from this agency, and the library never sent a warning notice that they were contacting an agency. First question, was this a legal move by the library and the agency, that I was never contacted. If so, what should be my next move, since I have never missed any other payments and there was no other reason for the fair credit score that I saw last night. I saw some posts in other forums saying that this agency "refuses to allow payment" and cannot erase the mark. Can anyone explain? Thanks in advance.
