Utli. down on all CC's BUT...

hi me again  hehe

ok i recently paid off most of my 6000 debt, my question is i still have 1 CC thats a 1000 limit and theres about 725 on it which is about 72 percent ulit. would it be better to BT half to a zero'd card so the ulti. is not so high?

IMHO - yes if you can do it for free or to a low/zero account

They look at overall utilization and utilization on one account.

How soon are you planning on getting the last of this paid off?

How long of clean payments do you have?

Congrats on getting you overall util low! You won't reap the full benefits until you get that last card under 10%.

Re: Utli. down on all CC's BUT...

They look at both overall util and individual util. Overall util doesn't change unless you get a CLI or pay down debt. However, BTs can game the system and lower the util on individual cards, which is perfectly legal to do.

2 CCs with a $1,000 limit, and $900 debt, one is probably best off with $450 on each CC.
