May be randomness; however, Chase and a few other lenders have historically sometimes granted higher limits to people who have basically nothing previously... advertising gimmick, first mover advantage with a customer.
I don't know if that's realistic or not but it's happened: you weren't unique in that, and some of the lottery winners were female as well.
I wouldn't worry much about it, just an irritation that doesn't really make any difference: having better limits doesn't make you a better person.

Not sure what you mean when you say Canada does not do credit reporting or FICO?

I got my credit pulled on an island 35 miles off the Venezuelan coast. It's pretty much global anymore.
elim, what reporting was that credit pull based on? I don't think we are talking about where one is geographically when you try to pull a report - rather it's referring to does Canada, or any other particluar country, have reporting to some or all of the 3 major CB's and/or do they have FICO scoring based on one's credit history in that particular country.

I think pretty much every country has different bureaus (data repositories). Credit reporting and scoring is a fact of life though in most of the top 50 world economies if not more I suspect.

Sure, of course, but we're talking specifally about Canada and FICO. (my country comment was just trying to determine what the fact that he was able to get reporting in Venez. had to do with the post noting Canada doesn;t have reporting/scoring - was he noting that you can get US reporting anywhere in the world as long as you are connected by phone or online or was he saying that Venez. had credit reporting and FICO scoring based specifially on one's credit history in that country)
Either way, Canada does have reporting and FICO scores based on your credit history in Canada.

if they can pull my U.S. Fico scores from there, then they surely can pull his Canadian Fico scores from here.
First and foremost, why is my "reply" not being conncted to the post I am commenting on?? ![]()
Next, we've gotten a bit lost here: "if they can pull my U.S. Fico scores from there, then they surely can pull his Canadian Fico scores from here."
The point was not if they can pull US scores from there - if you have a computer and internet access you can pull your US scores from Indonesia if you wanted. The point is did Canada have reporting and FICO scoring and was that reporting and scoring based on your credit history in that country.

You can quote the post you are replying to as long as you are not using the mobile version. If I'm on my phone I just switch to full version real quick.
